Chrysalis - Painting with Nature - 2025

Forced into a state of stillness, patiently waiting quietly, to dissolve the old, to make space for the new. Broken and lost, searching. In between. Surrender to the unknown.

The process is labour intensive, shell by shell, Mandy explores and follows her intuition, searching, sorting, and selecting the right form from thousands for its specific shape, size, and thickness. 

Each small cone-shaped shell is reminiscent of a chrysalis case. The act of creation of this piece was equally apt.
